The rural unincorporated community of Santa Rosa Valley is located in Ventura County, nestled between mountains just east of Camarillo and below the Norwegian Grade. Santa Rosa Valley covers close to seven square miles of land with a population of about 3,500 people.
Once home to a Chumash village, today Santa Rosa Valley consists primarily of agricultural land, along with such wildlife as bobcats, foxes, deer and coyotes. The late 20th century brought significant residential development to the area, and many large residences use Santa Rosa Road as the main thoroughfare. Santa Rosa Valley borders on the Conejo Canyons Open Space, as well as Mount Clef Ridge, a volcanic mountain rising more than 1000 feet.
